Byword Studio is part of Neuma Creative. We did this project under the Neuma name.

Before

“They know we’re gonna answer. They know we’re gonna be there when we say. They know we’re gonna do the job.”

Jon Hopkin, owner

Painting the Big Island since 2002, on a website from 2004. In May 2026, a search for the company’s own name didn’t bring that site up in the first thirty results.

What we built

A new brand and a twelve-page website, then the Google work every month.

Magic Brush Painting’s wood refinishing page on a desktop: the work tabs, “Wood refinishing.” and two of Jon’s own photos, carved garage doors and a refinished entry door
The same page on a phone
A page for each kind of job they do. This one is wood refinishing.

The build, May to July 2026

  • Logo, colors and fonts
  • A twelve-page website, a page for each kind of job
  • Their Google Business Profile, set up
  • Review requests after every job (the review app)
  • A social media guide

Every month since August

  • A Google post every Monday
  • A reply drafted for every new review, posted with Jon’s OK
  • A short report before every invoice

The review app

After every job, the crew sends a review request from their phone.

  • Their crew page on a phone: “Send a review request,” with Send by Text, Send by Email and a QR code (blurred here)

    Review request

When a job wraps, the crew opens one page and sends the ask by text, by email or with a QR code.

  • Their review page on a phone: “Thanks for working with us.” with Leave a Google review and Something wasn’t right? Tell us

    Review page

Every customer gets the same two choices: leave a Google review, or tell Jon something wasn’t right.

  • Their feedback form on a phone: “We’d like to make it right.” with what could we have done better, your name, email and phone

    Private feedback

Anything that wasn’t right goes straight to Jon’s inbox, so he can follow up and make it right.

What Jon says

“Working with Byword Studio has been a great experience. They listened to our requests and delivered what we were needing. They helped create a new logo, website, and helped with SEO so our business is presented more professionally and is generating more leads. I would highly recommend working with Cole and his team.”
